How We Are Safe

At Team 1672 we believe safety is the most important part of the First Robotics Competition, and that's why we are taking steps toward a competition that is safer than ever before.

Tool Training

Having all of our members trained with the tools that we use on a daily basis is an important stepping stone for safety, and we are proud to say that all of our members are trained with our tools.

Judge free zone

Here at Team 1672 we believe in a zone that everyone feels comfortable in is the aura that we want our team to be surrounded in, that's why we encourage asking questions if someone is unsure of how to use a tool or how to approach a situation.

Our Space

We have taken advantage of our space with even more safety precautions such as more fire protection and a more open concept to avoid cramming. We have access to 3 areas in the building, the first one is the main robotics room where we store the robot, parts, toolboxes, and med kits. The second is the spacious thinking area where people can plan their concepts for the robot in peace. The third area contains power tools also with featured step-by-step instructions next to each one. This open-concept space lets us be the most efficient we can be and also ensures our safety as accidental bumps and trips are less likely to happen

Safety Presentation

At the start of the season, every member of the team had to attend a mandatory safety presentation put on by the safety captain. This presentation highlights all of the precautions to take when building as well as a detailed explanation of where to find all things safety, Medkits, Fire prevention, eye wash, etc.

Strike System

Here at Team 1672, we believe that Safety is the most important concern during build season. That is why this year we have introduced a strike system, If you continue to act unsafe during build season and around competition you may be punished. Some punishments that we have in place is being removed from the meeting for the day, as well as being removed from the team completely.
